Complications
There are many reasons why a prosthesis may develop complications. Some are serious, but most are extremely rare.
Complications are of two types :
- medical complications due to the surgical procedure
- complications affecting the prosthesis that may require
a revision operation
For the patient, it is important to both consider and understand the statistics on revision operations. They indicate the most frequent complications and degree of seriousness.
